Who we are

Our pharmacies have an enriched local history. We have been serving the community of Sault Ste Marie since 1954 with the establishment of our IDA Merrett's Location in the Steelton area. In 1963, our IDA Group Health Centre location was established. Both stores are blessed with an amazing staff that understand individual customer needs and go above and beyond to help. Our success over the years is due to the valued customers and the hard working staff and we are honoured to continue serving the community.

While the original owners remain active in the background of business operations, the next generation of pharmacists are providing advice and support to our patients whose parents and grandparents remain in our care. As independent pharmacies, we are able to tailor our services to meet the needs of our customers and patients. Our goal is to help all those who visit us for pharmaceutical care to achieve an optimal level of health and wellness.

In addition to our one on one support to patients, we are the only automated premium blister packing service in Northern Ontario which allows for accurate medication management, especially while on the go. We are the largest producer of blister packs in Canada using a Vandenbrink Blister Packing Machine and are happy to serve our local community as well as other pharmacies with this service.

Our special compounding laboratory enables us to make special creams, ointments, tablets, capsules, liquids, lollipops, suppositories, troches and more by doctor’s requests to help our patients receive the medication they require in a manner they prefer.  

Our pharmacists also specialize in chronic disease management. Both IDA Merrett's and IDA Group Health Centre pharmacies group employs certified diabetes and respiratory educators. We also advocate for those experiencing mental health and addictions, and provide service those who require methadone, suboxone and SROM. We work with partners in the community to improve awareness and education.

We provide free delivery of all of your needs, an online and in-store shop front, easy prescription refills through an online website, diem app, automated phone system.
