A visit to the clinic or hospital often means taking in a lot of information in a short amount of time—and while feeling tired or stressed. It’s not surprising if you forget something! Fortunately, your pharmacist is here to answer your questions and, if necessary, act as a go-between with your medical team.
Your pharmacist can also take time to do a medication review to go over each of your prescriptions. Your pharmacist will go over different topics, such as your knowledge of your medication and its goals, your ability to take the medication properly, and the effects of your medication.
Your answers will help your pharmacist assess your medication and, above all, help you better understand and therefore better adhere to your prescription. A medication review is also an opportunity for you to share any health problems or concerns with your pharmacist so that services can be truly tailored to your needs. A medication review can take between 20 and 60 minutes, and fees may apply.
